NHS Meningitis B Vaccine Service

Quick, NHS-backed Meningitis B vaccination at your local pharmacy.
Free NHS vaccination for eligible patients.

About the Service

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England have announced a new community pharmacy vaccination service to provide a one-off Meningococcal B (MenB) Vaccination Service.

The new Advanced service is targeted to protect young people heading to universities or residential further education settings ahead of the start of term in autumn 2026.

Our trained pharmacy team can administer the vaccine, confirm eligibility and advise on the NHS schedule. We support parents and carers, answer questions about safety and side effects, and provide clear aftercare guidance. If you’re unsure whether you or your child qualify for the NHS vaccine, we can check your eligibility and explain next steps.

Appointments can be booked online, and we aim to make the process quick, safe and reassuring.

Safe, NHS vaccine for eligible people.

Service Highlights

The Meningitis B vaccine reduces the risk of serious infection and is offered under NHS recommendations for eligible groups. At the pharmacy you’ll be seen by a trained clinician who will check your eligibility, discuss any medical history, obtain consent and administer the vaccine.

You will require two doses of the Meningitis B vaccine to provide full protection to people.

Following the first dose, a second dose should be administered at least 28 days later and ideally before term starts in September 2026.

Key Benefits

Receiving the MenB vaccine helps protect vulnerable infants and other eligible individuals from invasive meningococcal B disease, which can be severe. The vaccine is part of national recommendations and is administered by qualified pharmacy staff who follow NHS protocols. Benefits include reduced risk of life-threatening infection, ease of access through local pharmacy services, and clear guidance on what to expect and how to manage common side effects. If you have questions about suitability or timing, our clinicians can provide personalised advice based on NHS guidance and your medical history.
